At CCAM, our research engineers work directly with multi-disciplinary project teams to understand key manufacturing challenges and how to solve them.  This includes problem assessment & technology evaluation, technology development & testing, application development and testing, automation, integration, prototyping, and more.  Our team members work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment on multiple projects at a time, collaborating with contributors from different companies, industries, disciplines, teams, government entities, and universities.

In this position you will Manage data and maintain data integrity by creating and manipulating spreadsheets and using pivot tables, conditional formatting, and mathematical and statistical formulas; Survey and summarize current literature using technical writing skills and performing literature searches on topics with little prior knowledge, and create written documentation of techniques used & work methods; and Gain more in-depth understanding of Surfacing & Material Research & Additive Manufacturing Processes.

In this position you will Improve troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities by working directly on applied projects; learning how to identify the bottleneck issue/problem in any given task; developing independent research capabilities; creating or investigating solutions in a tactical and methodical manner; building upon your experience in hardware design; software & algorithm development, and data collection. 

In this position you will Improve understanding of the application of data science principles in manufacturing through understanding the principles of advanced data analysis and modeling schemes for manufacturing with emphasis on machine learning principles for image processing, modification of existing scripts to analyze large data sets for modeling and analysis purposes, and development of scripts to pre-process datasets.

In this position you will Improve understanding of basic manufacturing principles through learning the setup of basic maintenance and operating principles of various CNC equipment; learning basic metrology principles including GD&T and the operating principles of various inspection technologies; and design fixtures and experimental testbed to apply design for manufacturing and minimum viable product principles.
