The Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) proudly welcomes WAAM3D as its newest Technology Member. This exciting partnership marks a major milestone for the U.S. additive manufacturing landscape as CCAM becomes home to the first RoboWAAM XP system in the United States, bringing cutting-edge Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) capabilities to its growing ecosystem of industry, academic, and government partners.
The RoboWAAM XP, WAAM3D’s flagship platform, will soon be operational at CCAM’s state-of-the-art facility in Virginia. The system introduces a new dimension of large-scale, high-performance metal additive manufacturing, enabling the development of complex geometries using advanced software, real-time monitoring, and closed-loop control. The system will carry WAAM3D’s new high productivity G-MAX process which features both the highest deposition rate available at >15kg/hour and much wider independent operational envelopes for energy and material inputs.
WAAM3D’s membership signals the beginning of collaborative efforts focused on the development, maturation, and qualification of WAAM technologies for demanding applications across aerospace, defense, energy, and heavy industry. By joining CCAM, WAAM3D gains access to a powerful network of thought leaders, researchers, and manufacturers working at the cutting edge of innovation.
