Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) announced the appointment of Brian Mathis as Director of Business Development and Partnerships, effective January 1, 2026.
In this role, Brian will be responsible for expanding CCAM’s engagement strategy, both with existing and new members, strengthening long-term partnerships, and aligning business development efforts with the organization’s research, technology maturation, and workforce priorities. His appointment supports CCAM’s continued growth as a hub for collaborative problem-solving in advanced manufacturing.
CCAM operates at the intersection of applied research and industrial implementation, working with partners to reduce risk, accelerate qualification, and shorten the path from innovation to adoption. In Brian’s new role, he will focus on connecting partner needs with CCAM’s technical capabilities and collaborative model.
CCAM’s engagement in mission-driven manufacturing initiatives, including support of the maritime industrial base, where advanced materials, process validation, and production efficiency are essential to national security objectives is a core priority for the organization. Through collaborative research and validation efforts, CCAM helps partners improve manufacturing performance while strengthening supply chain resilience.
In addition, Brian will support CCAM’s growing body of work focused on the practical application of Industry 5.0 principles. This includes translating emerging concepts into partner-informed roadmaps that unlock the potential of this emerging advanced manufacturing paradigm creating tangible outcomes with measurable impact.
