On December 3rd the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) today announced the launch of its new CCAM Member Portal, a digital platform designed to deepen collaboration, streamline engagement, and unlock new opportunities for innovation across its member community.
Introduced as a new benefit under CCAM’s enhanced member model, the Member Portal provides a centralized workspace where industry, academic, and government members can connect in real time, share knowledge, and explore collaboration opportunities that extend beyond traditional communication channels.
“CCAM members have consistently expressed interest in stronger connections, greater visibility into ongoing work, and easier ways to collaborate across our ecosystem,” said Dan Cunningham, Director of Business Development & Partnerships. “The Member Portal brings those capabilities together in one place—creating an environment where ideas, expertise, and partnerships can develop organically and efficiently.”
A New Digital Hub for Engagement and Innovation
The CCAM Member Portal is designed to support both day-to-day engagement and long-term collaboration by enabling members to:
-
- Connect directly with peers who share technical interests or complementary expertise
- Participate in meaningful discussions and contribute insights to community-driven conversations
- Discover collaboration opportunities that may not surface through traditional meetings or events
- Share knowledge in real time, staying informed on topics, initiatives, and emerging needs
- Identify project partners more quickly, expand professional networks, and build collaborations with lasting impact
By bringing conversations, connections, and resources into a single digital environment, the portal strengthens CCAM’s role as a convenor and accelerator within Virginia’s—and the broader global—advanced manufacturing ecosystem.
Value for Members and Future Members
For current members, the portal enhances access to CCAM’s community and reinforces the collaborative advantages of participation. For prospective members, it offers a preview of CCAM’s member-driven model, where shared challenges, cross-sector expertise, and trusted collaboration are central to accelerating technology development and adoption.
The Member Portal complements CCAM’s applied research programs, workforce initiatives, and industry-guided projects—extending collaboration beyond physical facilities and formal engagements.
