New Thermal Spray Coating Process Specialist Joins CCAM’s Surface Engineering Team

Kevin Childrey joined CCAM’s Surface Engineering team as Thermal Spray Coating Process Specialist on June 4th. He was previously with Dominion Energy as Control Room Operator Trainee at Surry Nuclear Power Station and Operator at Chesterfield Power Station. Prior to that, Mr. Childrey spent six years at Alstom Power and completed a four-year journeyman winder program. He is experienced at operating machining equipment including milling machines, lathes, surface grinders and multiple welding and plasma cutting process machines; has been a certified crane and equipment operator; and has performed nondestructive testing operations such as magnetic particle testing, particulate matter testing, and ultrasonic testing. Mr. Childrey was also a volunteer firefighter with Prince George Company 1 Volunteer Fire Department. As a new father to twins Kamden and Baileigh, Mr. Childrey has little time for hobbies, but when he can, he and his wife enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and woodworking.
