PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Bruce Wilson has joined the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM) as Director of Business Development. In this role Mr. Wilson will be responsible for new member recruitment, current member relations and the development of new lines of business for the organization.
Wilson brings over two decades of experience with leading-edge technology companies in aerospace systems, medical devices, electronic payments, and telecommunications, as well as investment and business strategy consulting.

Wilson was previously the Business Manager for Barron Associates Inc., a research and development engineering company in aerospace, healthcare, and defense, where he was responsible for commercialization, proposal and contract management, regulatory compliance, intellectual property patents and licensing, and administrative functions.
Prior to Barron Associates, Wilson co-founded AFrame Digital Inc., an advanced research-based digital health company providing remote patient monitoring to reduce hospital readmissions using a novel wireless wearable medical device and cloud-based analytical models. He also co-founded CyberCash Inc, the pioneer Internet payments company that went public on NASDAQ, where he formed joint ventures with financial institutions in the US, Europe and Asia. As an investment manager, he sat on the boards of technology start-up companies and assisted with strategy and mentoring.

Wilson’s contributions have been honored by DARPA on the cover of their SBIR Success Profile publication, been the recipient of the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s Innovation Award and the CTIA Emerging Technology Award. He holds four patents. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Long Island University. In his free time, he enjoys his family, outdoor work, electronics, music, and photography.
