Dr. Sydney G. Roberts Joins CCAM as Director of Strategic Partnerships

Dr. Sydney G. Roberts joined CCAM as Director of Strategic Partnerships on August 31, 2017. She is responsible for accelerating CCAM research initiatives by developing and leading strategic relationships with industry and university members, Federal partners, and other stakeholders to drive innovation in advanced manufacturing.

Sydney has been working at the intersection of research and industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining CCAM, Dr. Roberts led a team of building science engineers and professionals in collaborative research and energy efficiency program creation and management at Southface Energy Institute. She is a national thought leader in energy and resource efficiency, sustainability, workforce training, and greenhouse gas reduction. At Southface, Sydney built a building science research team, created and directed the Southeast Weatherization Training (SWEET) Center, partnered with utilities on creation and management of demand side management programs, and developed internal and external quality management systems. Dr. Roberts has achieved funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and multiple states, utilities, and private enterprises.

Dr. Roberts serves on the Board of Directors of the Home Performance Coalition, the Lennox Industry Advisory Council, and additional industry leadership positions.  She earned her B.S, M.S.E, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Roberts is currently planning and implementing high tech, energy efficient renovations to her home and working directly with several manufacturers on custom solutions.
